“I work in Del Mar and obviously get to try all the local spots. Zel’s has become one of my local favorites. The owners are also very actively involved in the community and give back which is so important to the long term sustainability of any local area. Having said that the food is excellent from all the great flat breads to my new favorite the quinoa veggie burger. They make it fresh right there as with everything on the menu. If you are in Del Mar you have to stop by for their great happy hour specials or dinner. If you hit it on the right night they also have local live music as an added bonus.”

“I came to Zel’s Del Mar a while ago with a friend to catch up and chit chat over dinner and then head over to watch a movie at Cineopolis. And I love this restaurant! The food is exceptionally delicious. My friend and I shared the ahi bruschetta appetizers and I ordered a margherita flatbread pizza. It was so filling and I love the whole ambiance of the restaurant. It is a bit small and can get a little noisy but I love it. When I came they had a live band playing which I thought was really cool. I totally recommend this restaurant to anybody who wants to meet up with a friend to catch a meal or even on a date. The ambiance is nice and the service was good also.”

“We stumbled upon this quaint little gem as we walked the streets of Del Mar. It looked inviting and new so we thought we would give it a try. Not only were we blown away by the food, but the atmosphere truly drew us in and we ended up noshing, chatting and listening to music for over 2 hours. By the time we left, Zel’s had a wait for a table and was abuzz with diners, drinkers and live music.”

“The open-air patio allows patrons to watch people strolling up and down Camino Del Mar, which sometimes results in neighbors taking a few minutes to say hello. Inside the restaurant, guests can enjoy the enclosed dining area or hang out at the bar.”
